Nature Prints

From Maui, Hawaii...
Carrie Lee Brady creates hand printed works of art with nature as her guide and inspiration.
In simplified terms, printmaking is the transfer of an image from one painted surface to another.
Lines and textures will persist from print to print, while each and every rendering is unique.
Original prints are embellished by hand using mixed media elements and exotic papers sourced through Thailand, Nepal, and Japan.
The art works featured in these portfolios were created with various contemporary and traditional printmaking techniques:
Linocut is a relief printing technique using the artist's own hand-carved surfaces.
Gyotaku is a nature printing technique originating before the invention of the camera. Aquatic and botanical life forms are inked and pressed to create detailed prints.
